The Feed Me Fresh food and garden blog focuses on the ongoing activities of Mount Kisco Child Care Center’s Feed Me Fresh Garden to Table Nutrition Program.
FOOD: Each week, children prepare and eat food from our year round curriculum of over 50 kid tested recipes. Classroom teachers do an amazing job facilitating food based educational experiences. We’ll be sharing stories and some recipes here on the blog.
GARDEN: There are over 20 raised bed gardens on the playgrounds and grounds of Mount Kisco Child Care Center. Both teachers and children enjoy planning, planting, weeding, watering, harvesting and seed saving from our garden beds. We grow food, herbs and even some flowers! Our onsite composting system helps close the loop by transforming veggie and garden scraps into soil. Our greenhouse is a year round classroom for starting seedlings and following weather patterns.
We keep you posted on our ongoing adventures. You can sign up to get our blogposts sent to your email box by subscribing on the right side of the page.
